Cheap doesn't always have to mean cheerless –this place is living proof. Piccolo is fast, friendly and always bustling. It's great for takeaway and for those adhoc dinners, when you'd rather pickle your own head than come face to face with another Fray Bentos, it's spot on.

My boyfriend was violently sick for 4 days after eating the veal here. As you can imagine that weekend trip will not be remembered as a great one!
