Dig in the Ribs, Brighton

A bit of a student favourite on account of its sizeable portions and tolerance of large, drunken groups. The staff are built in a lab to smile in the face of all but the most incoherent adversity –dig them in the ribs though and you'll be turfed out onto the street faster than you can say ' it was a joke, haven't you ever heard it before?' Come here for all your TexMex classics and a bit of post–prandial loitering over cocktails in the bar afterwards. This isn't somewhere to impress a date with your class and sophistication but for celebratory dinners with your common friends it's totally spot on.

User Reviews for Dig in the Ribs

The worst. I have never in my life been served such horrible food. The service was just as bad. Apparently the place used to be good but has changed owners... save your money...

I was served cold chicken not once, but twice at this restuarant. After the second complaint a hot one arrived but 5 hours after escaping, I came down with serious food poisoning and was off work for 3 days because of it. Only other food I'd had that day and the day prior had been shared with others. Restaurant itself is dingy, grubby, overpriced at best. I will never go back.

Awful, awful place... Where to begin? The chicken wings that I started with were the only positive thing from the night. The place was empty and yet the staff had to be coaxed away from their private conversations to serve and had no idea of the menu - when I pointed out that my main meal was without the stipulated cheese, guacamole and sour cream (half of its ingredients) I was informed that they were in the process of changing the menu and that they had decided not to put any on that salad any more! I then endured a salad of mostly lettuce, two slices of tomato, one mushroom and four olives for the princely sum of 8! My partner's burrito was no better, a small portion, which looked like it was plated up and sat on the side a long time before it was served. Worst restaurant that I have been to in Brighton. Will never go back.

Shocking! Vile food, lame service, overpriced. I'm a big fan of Mexican food but this place shouldn't be allowed to feed animals.

The place is a dump. Food is cold and rubbish. The staff are rude and management are not impressed when you complain the food is cold. Atmosphere is none existent.Dont waste your money, you have been warned.

How I wish I read the latest reviews before going. It's rather worrying to see so many falling ill after the slop this restaurant is serving. Very slow service from the start. My black russian arrived white! I sent it back and got the same thing again. I mentioned that black russians tend to be black but got a rather blank and vacant look. The starter nachos/tostada were ok but for me this restaurant was all about the ribs. They were tough, tasteless and dry. The chips cold and greasy and the salad/coleslaw tasted old. We got the bill quickly, well we tried but the zombie like staff managed to loose my card! There were lots of other people looking unhappy (including the staff) and more than one complaint in the hour I was there. Hopefully the management will change again soon!
