The Falkirk Wheel
From M80/A80 follow signs for Falkirk and brown and white tourist signposts for Falkirk Wheel. The world's first and only rotating boat lift is a magnificent feat of engineering which lifts boats up and down with the water they're floating in. The wheel links the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal making it possible to travel by boat through the central belt of Scotland. Well worth booking the short guided boat trip on the wheel and the boat drivers' patter well worth the price itself. <a href='http://www.itchycity.co.uk/shop/'target="_blank"> Click here to buy Itchy Glasgow, the UK's best–selling guide to what's on in Glasgow, including hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, and shopping.
