King Tut's Wah Wah Hut
Often preceded by the words "The world famous", King Tut's has been the place to be seen for the last ten years for up and coming rock 'n' roll superstars. The list of now popular bands that have played King Tut's is highly impressive and I wouldn't want to embarrass management and staff by listing them all, but Pulp, Blur, The Bluetones and Embrace all trod the boards here in their early days, whilst a little known band called Oasis just happened to be discovered here. So if you take the history of the place, add on the fact that bands play every night, multiply by decent drink prices, divide by the size – downstairs bar, upstairs bar and stage –, then multiply by the square root of food served during the day, an excellent jukebox and pool tables then it all equals, mighty fine.
