Prospective landlords please take note: good sports bars are very rare in Brighton. Either they're full of dunderheads trying to beat each other up, or packed with Man U supporters too busy fiddling with expensive mobiles to care much about the game. This one's got the city centre sports crowd sewn up by offering all major footie and rugby matches on Sky Sports and a pool table in the downstairs bar. It's lively, but thankfully twat free, and after the match the volume is pumped up and you can commiserate or celebrate in a pre–club atmosphere. Leave the inflatable 'nanas and knuckle–dusters in the cupboard, you won't get in.
