Union Club
Most recent in spate of club revamps in the city, the old Zap has been well and truly zapped. The new look is grown–up, sleek and black throughout, with new seating areas, screens for visuals and a proper sized bar and seems to have brought the venue back into play in a cutthroat market. The music policy is eclectic: live music, hip–hop and various dance music styles are all catered for. To avoid disappointment, check the website as club nights generally tussle for alternating slots. Keep an eye out for 'Chaos Rocks', with residents Steve Chaos and Johnny Rocks – of Rounder Records – serving up cutting edge electro–punk to the buzzing crowd. Thu–Fri £5 after 11pm, Sat £10 after 10pm.
