Café Rouge
Seems to rely and thrive on a great deal of style over substance. Punters flock to experience the lovely setting, perched above the canal in Brindleyplace, to such an extent that you'd be well advised to book a couple of days in advance. In the summer this whole area is delightful and the bistro style creates a relaxed ambience, but the French cuisine flatters to deceive. Some of the prices appear to have been greatly inflated to give the impression that the food is exemplary. It's not. You can get noodles and brie at Asda. Hell, you can even get them at Aldi, and for a quarter of the price.
