Electric Cinema, The

The Electric is a genuine old school cinema still toiling away in the age of the multiplex. Whilst there's been a cinema on this spot since 1909, the current building dates back to 1937 and it's been known as 'The Electric' since 1993. These days it serves up a cocktail of quality recently released films, slightly obscure foreign flicks and some old classics from yesteryear. You can also buy cakes and biscuits from the little shop outside the theatre and talk about all things arty.
