If in the land of the blind the one–eyed man is king, then in the land of Yates's Wine Lodge's, RSVP rules. For that's all RSVP is really, a step–up from the high street wine bars – but not that big a step. Allusions of grandeur include serviettes stuck to the bottom of your pint glass, a slightly cynical – yet not wholly unwelcome – policy of only hiring attractive bar staff, and the standard rent–a–businessman sat in the window stroking his Burtons cravat.
