Walkabout, The

This large Australian theme pub is a soulless warehouse frequented by loutish rugby fans intent on seeing us get hammered by the Aussies. The native bar staff and tacky crocodile fixtures attempt to give the place a touch of atmosphere but only serve to remind everyone why these theme bars are so lame. The large TV screen upstairs is ideal for watching the football and its tendency to cut out at key moments will add tension to even the most dire of matches. But when the final whistle blows and you realise that Elle Macphereson is not standing by the bar in a bikini, you're best off going elsewhere.
