The Sir John is a pocket of serenity; a bastion of hope against the sweaty crush of the city sprawl. There can be no better place in the English summer than to relax in a beer garden and, despite its urban location, this pub boasts one of the finest we've seen. High walls and creeping vines conceal you from your true, harrowing surroundings, and even in our damp pseudo-summer, the regal interior and mellowed furnishings still enable one to sit back in comfort and enjoy the fine selection of ales and lagers on offer.
