This place has been here for donkeys without any major overhauls. Still a members and guests bar that attracts many of the after–work Lace Market crew, who have also been doing the rounds for years. Traditionally an older crowd, – as of January 2000, old is now officially defined as 26, although there is talk that that may change to 27 in 2001 –, the Monastery regulars have no qualms about making the most of the late licence, larging it up–market style 'til chucking out time.
