Bar Risa

Smart modern bar in the landmark British Waterways building. With the canalside patio drinking area outside it's guaranteed to be busy when the weather's good, and excellent 2–4–1 drinks offers ensures popularity even if it gets a bit grim out there. The bar itself is spread over two floors, with upstairs forming a large mezzanine area overlooking the main bar. There are a number of comfy settees, but you've got to be quick, especially during peak periods, to have a chance of getting one. Jongleurs comedy club upstairs may have some of the top names from the comedy circuit but you're unlikely to see anything funnier than someone walking, by mistake, up the spiral staircase that leads nowhere and banging their swede on the ceiling.
