Tucked away off Tib Street, Cord is a strong contender for the best-kept secret in Manchester. The upper floor is an unpretentious and cosy bar with, yes, corduroy on the walls; a place where you can arrive in your favourite jeans and trainers on a Saturday and not feel like anyone cares, or is laughing at your footwear. There's top quality nightly DJs downstairs and they serve a wide range of beers (Baltika, Duvel, Bacchus) for the adventurous mid-twenties to mid-thirties crowd, who appreciate the low gimmick factor.
