Heaton Hall

Comprising 25% of Manchester's green space (the other 75% is in a warehouse in Hulme), Heaton Hall and Park scares us. Maybe it's the spooky mansion. Maybe we're afraid of their spectacular firework displays. Or maybe we're just scared of grass. Whatever the case, we're willing to face our fears and enjoy this splendid day out. Rolling scenery. Old codgers walking. The smell of oxygen. It's like being in a Jane Austen novel without all the uncomfort-able corsets and inappropriate advances of people in crotch-hugging jodphurs.
