Bridgewater Hall

The civilised side of Manc's music scene. Forget long-haired ruffians and scarf-wearing posers, you're more likely to spot tuxes and gowns in here. If you prefer Beethoven to the Beta Band or Schubert to Snow Patrol, the Bridgewater will verily be a bridge over noisy, insane, thrashily-troubled waters for you. That is, until Classic FM decide to stage a coup, take over the country's airwaves entirely and incarcerate Chris Moyles for crimes against humanity. For folk with refined tastes, this venue should really be better known. Sadly, until Moyles is taken into custody, that may well be just a (pan) pipe dream.
