Had George Lucas made the brave and daring decision to set Star Wars on Market Street instead of the planet of Tatooine, the fate of the galaxy would've been significantly different. Luke Skywalker, unable to resist the charms of the Arndale centre, would have spent the first three films shopping. The cliff-hanger of The Empire Strikes Back would have been him losing his credit card. Han Solo would have spent all day drinking venti lattes in Starbucks and Princess Leia would have been last seen in Primark. Indeed, the only notable set pieces of the film would have been Obi-Wan's lightsabre battle with a couple of scallies and Luke's daring attempt to get to Music Zone before it closed for the evening.
