Owned by the people behind the Metropolitan, the Assembly is a similarly up-market and relaxed establishment for the West Didsbury set. There's neat little niches for drinking or dining al fresco, and the bar boasts an impressive selection of wines. It ain't cheap, but having said that it's friendly as well as flash.
