The Midland Hotel

This place is well, posh. Victorian Railway architecture at its most glorious with glazed red bricks on the outside and sumptuous rooms which are comfortably sized on the inside. The lobby makes up for the bijou nature of the rooms and there's often someone on the piano on an evening to entertain while you sip drinks from the lobby bar. Breakfast is enormous and can take up to 3 hours, with plenty of newspapers to read while you scoff. Expensive, yes but you can put your folks here to soften the blow of telling them you're gay. After all, they might appreciate the AA Rosette winning French Restaurant
