Imli

For us mere mortals who can't afford the legendary Michelin-starred Tamarind Restaurant in Mayfair, the same clever folk bring us the more canteen-like Imli, A happy Soho crowd dines tapas-style on authentic Indian cuisine. The spicy potato cakes with tamarind and the southern lamb curry were both stand-outs. Sharing dishes makes for a more social and satisfying meal and Imli's food is fun, fresh and exciting, and leaves you zinging with spice – we're still buzzing from the chillis. Order carefully, korma-lovers: heat levels are higher than your average curryhouse, and the waiters laugh when you ask for yoghurt.
