Tay Do Cafe

There's such a vast selection of Vietnamese kitchens on Kingsland Road that should you have a drunken fall-out with your mates en route, you can all eat in different restaurants. Just keep their filthy hands off the Tay Do Cafe – not to be confused with the Tay Do Restaurant across the road. It's clattery, speedy and canteen-like, but classic Vietnamese dishes like braised Mekong catfish and bo pia summer rolls are served up to perfection. Not really the spot for a proposal though, sadly.
