La Porchetta Pollo Bar
La Porchetta harks back to a time when signed, black-and-white photos of film stars were standard-issue wallpaper for Soho eateries. With the coming of the blonde wood sushi bars, it's nice to step back to the old days – even if that means menus decorated with a pinny-wearing cartoon pig and a slight dusting of ancient glue when you brush past the yellowing snapshots. The food is cheap and cheerful – hardly haute cuisine – but perfect for grabbing a giant pre-theatre pile of pasta or an equally enormous post-pub pizza.
