I Knit

Knitting gained new kudos when Jennifer Aniston started clacking her needles. Now that it's cool, you can rustle yourself up some bargain clothing with the help of the courses and super-friendly knitting circles at I Knit. The Wednesday night group alternates between their cosy skein-laden shop in Vauxhall and a central London pub where presumably not only can you rattle off the odd (inevitably unwanted) Crimbo gift, but if you spill your pint you can just mop it up with that fridge-cosy you're working on.
