The best seats in the house set you back the price of a couple of good nights at your local Taste of India, but when it comes to second-date brownie points this wins hands down. Firstly, it's intellectual; you can show off your brain-brawn by swatting up before you go and making knowing comments in the interval (don't call it half-time). Secondly, it can get pretty chilly as dusk draws in – excellent excuse for sharing body warmth. Last but not least, there will always be the 'groundlings' who only paid a fiver but have to stand below you looking inferior.
