Old Spitalfields Market

Old Spitalfields has come a long way since Charles II licensed it for the sale of 'flesh, fowl and roots', and presumably even further since it was a slobbery old field. You'll now find it's partly shiny coffee shops and art galleries and partly a mixed food, clothing, arts and crafts market. The stalls are fewer but more varied than Camden and there are more specialist and high-end products in the surrounding shops. Pick up a pair of vintage cowboy boots, some obscure vinyl and a wedge of chocolate brownie big enough to warrant an integral carry-handle.
