Tate Modern

You can't miss the looming tower of the old power station as you walk along the Thames, and since it's free to enter, (exhibitions cost extra) you won't be able to help yourself from sneaking inside. The Tate's mammoth interior is so large they had helter skelter slides between the floors last year and you could wander round the collections of international modern and contemporary art - from 1900 to the present day - for hours.
