Old Crown

This formerly rather elegant pub has had a typical 'noughties' makeover. Now complete with de rigueur wooden tables and a serious, 'we are a gastropub' interior, it's actually rather a good find. The food is hearty at lunch and shifts to meze-style sharing plates in the evening, making it appealing for after-work drinks. As expected, the wine is carefully sourced - doesn't anywhere these days serve a good warm Liebfraumilch?
