The Barnsbury

The proliferation of gastropubs over the last few years has given rise to a kind of frenzy. Cosy neighbourhood snugs and smoky lounges have turned into leather–couched, organically–meated cash cows with super–inflated prices. The Barnsbury is one of these places which makes the blood boil. £13.00 for a sunday roast? Okay, but the portions are tiny, the meat is so–so and the service is rubbish. Our meal arrived an hour late with nary an apology. So we paid through our noses, withheld the 'suggested 12.5% gratuity' and resolved not to return. Steer clear.
