Railway Tavern
If you're expecting gastro shenanigans, oak-smoked parmesan and 17 different types of vodka, stop reading now. The Railway Tavern is a pub of the old school. It's spacious, pleasant and no-nonsense. It shows the footy and most importantly, serves booze. The only concessions to London poncery are the Thai menu – damned good if the truth be known – and ban on kids after 6pm. Otherwise, this is somewhere to kick back, relax and forget about trying to impress.
