Carluccio's Caffe

Still top of our list for al fresco eating in central London, Carluccio's looks like it'd cost and arm, a leg and a couple of internal organs, but, provided you order with care actually verges on cheap. Inside is bright, white and airy, outside has heaters for cooler nights and plenty of space in the sun when it's hot. Menu-wise, go for salads, breads, olives, pasta - not the ravioli - it's too small - or risotto. They also make a mean espresso to top it all off. Great for dates, catch-ups and shopping lunches.
