Like a fashion show after party round Fred and Wilma's, Detroit offers a bizarre take on a stylish night out. There are dozens of cocktails, funky bar snacks and DJs spinning modern beats and hip–hop. Punters range from impossibly hip and aloof to raucous Aussie girls on Sydney reunion nights out. Staff, after a year's respite on the snooty front have returned to their usual sullen selves. Our attempts to chat with the barman ended in him pointing us out and making repulsed faces to his colleagues later that night – we weren't wearing the skins of dead squirrels or anything.
