Le Flamma

Alsatian food, far from what we expected, is quite the delicacy. The Alsace specialty on offer here is far from variety meats in jelly. Try their speciality Le Flammakeuche – or Flamma for short – if you can't get your tongue around that mouthful. We guarantee you'll happily be able to devour the whole thing though.

It's a tasty, traditional dish from the Alsace region of France which consists of a thin pastry base covered with fromage blanc, cream, eggs and pastry – a pleasure on the palate and surprisingly well priced too. Itchy recommends the Thann, which is topped with chicken, ricotta, spinach, feta, tomatoes and olives, oh my. And if you're not flummoxed by all that Flamma try the sweet version, with a strawberry or apple flambée for dessert.

Wash it down with wine from their own vineyard and top up your, err, vintellect, chatting to exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable waiters. Alternatively – and I know it sounds ever so stressful – you can order something in from the extensive champagne and cocktails list.

Who would have thought food fit for an Alsatian would be so classy? Get the lead out, we're going walkies tonight, darling.

Plus, feel like winning a fancy meal for two at Le Flamma, bottle of champers included? Then send us an email to competitions@itchymedia.co.uk with your name, phone number and answer to the following question (you can take us if you like):

How would you best describe a Flamma?

Entries must reach us by Monday 13th May to be in with a chance of winning.
