King William, The

Bath's gentrification marches on. A few years ago this pub was right in the heart of the town's 'bad neighbourhood', but now it's on just another desirable street within walking distance of the city centre. The King William perfectly reflects the area's change of fortune, turning, Cinderella-like, from rundown dive to poshly painted foodie hangout. After midnight, we've heard it becomes a spit and gravel alkie paradiso, but since it closes at 11pm, no one has ever actually seen this.
