Serving traditional ales rather than alcopops and with chances of copping off literally zero, it's a traditional boozer with a roaring fire in winter and fab outdoor seating in the dappling summer sunshine. The food is surprisingly up-market; you're more likely to find rabbit or duck on the menu than burger and chips. It's one of the top gourmet pubs in Bath, if not the whole of the south. Once you sit down, you won't want to leave. Grandad slippers expected, if not compulsory.
