Boater, The
Greek myth tells of Charon, ferryman of the dead, punting the damned across to hell. Bath's Boater has the more enviable job of setting souls sailing on their merry way to heaven, via two-pint bottles of fantastically-named cider 'Natch'. Itchy's slightly deaf mate was surprised it didn't come in a furry cup. Four different levels incorporate newly-refurbed inside bars, a pool area, gargantuan sports screens and the biggest late-license beer garden in the city, with BBQs and footie tournaments in summer. A favourite with the Bath rugby team, and pretty much scrum-ptious all round.
