Two days on the cheap in Brighton

They say a fool and his money are soon parted, but momma didn't raise no fools, did she?

STAY
With Brighton Backpackers at only 12 a night for a dorm bed. Plus you get the added bonus of sharing a room with five other people. Who said us Brits weren't friendly?
(Cost 24 for the weekend)

SHOP
Check out some quirky accessories at The Brighton Bead Shop and hunt among the junk at Snoopers Paradise.
(Cost 5)

ATTRACTIONS
Hanging out on the beach or the Palace Pier don't cost a cent. Also for cultural kicks haul your skint butt round Brighton Museum and Art Gallery for some inspiration.
(Cost 0)

EAT
Bombay Aloo has been saving students from malnutrition for years. Grab a plate at their all you can eat buffet for under a fiver. Don't fancy Indian? Hit the all-day breakfasts at Capers.
(Cost 20)

DRINK
For real budget drinking buy yourself a carry-out and get pleasantly hammered on the beach. When it gets chilly, grit your teeth and see how long you can last before relenting to drink at J.D. Wetherspoons.
(Cost 20)

CLUB
Ignore the overpriced late drinking venues and head for a cheapie midweek club night. 'Mini Melt' at the Ocean Rooms costs just three shiny pounds, and indie kids should report to The Pavilion Tavern for Thursday's 'Mad For It'. At the weekend try Sumo for some late-bar groovin' and cheapskate entry.
(Cost 20)
